One of the country’s very active hubs (IoT Network Hub) will on Saturday, 29th February 2020 hold their monthly meetup sessions across their various chapters, with the Accra Chapter focusing on Cyber Security, Building Mobile Apps with Flutter and Introduction to Electronics.
IoT Network Hub is a vibrant community of tech enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, investors and professionals from across numerous fields, whose sole purpose is to apply technology in solving problems faced by the country and continent at large.
The meetup sessions are platforms to introduce new members to the community and most importantly share and learn practical skills at no cost at all. Currently, the hub runs concurrent meetups across the following venues.
|Accra||Aiti-Kace Kofi-Annan ICT Centre Ridge|
|Kumasi||KNUST Engineering Block, Lecture Theatre|
|Sunyani||Aiti-Kace Kofi-Annan ICT Centre, Regional Hospital Road|
|Tamale||NYA Conference Hall|
|Bolga||Kofi-Annan ICT Centre|
|Aflao, Ho, Takoradi||Coming soon|
According to the leadership, the three areas the Accra Chapter would be holding on the 29th of February would be practical and structured for continuation in its subsequent meetups. Below are very short introductions to the three chosen topics to give you a reason to attend the free class.
Cyber attacks are getting smarter by the hour and professionals are in high demand to outsmart black hat hackers while patching various vulnerabilities and helping firms and organizations analyze their systems, networks, and data to prevent loss or damage.
Flutter is a free and open-source mobile UI framework created by Google. The programing language used in Flutter is Dart and it allows one to create a native mobile application with one codebase. This means that one can write flutter for both iOS and Android without the stress of writing them separately.
And lastly, Electronics enables engineers and inventors to create hardware solutions to tackle the world’s problems and also to improve lives. Internet of Things is one area of technology that harnesses the power of both hardware and software worlds.
The Accra Chapter will be meeting at AITI-KACE (Advance Information Technology Institute- Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence). The venue is located opposite the back entrance of the parliament house on the Ghana Institue of Journalism (GIJ) road. The event starts at 1 pm and ends at 5 pm.

The late Nelson Mandela once said: “Young people must take it upon themselves to ensure that they receive the highest education possible so that they can represent us well in the future as future leaders.” And on that note, I would like to encourage you to attend this meetup at any of the venues closest to you.
